CSV exports and a document retention setting
Ask for a CSV export alongside the existing Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and Word formats, and choose how long generated documents are kept before they are deleted.
A CSV export is a single flat table, so ask for one table of data rather than a report with sections. Administrators set the retention window in the customer portal's Settings, anywhere from 1 to 30 days, with 7 days as the default. The window is fixed when a document is created, so documents you already have keep the expiry date they were given.
